So, I finally got access to Google+ yesterday, as they had a certain block on Google Apps users from joining. This means I don’t have to create a completely new e-mail just to use the service, and I can see what all the fuss is about.

Anyways, I thought I’d take the chance to refresh people on how they can follow me, if they want to. Below are some of the social networks I’m active on; feel free to give me a shout!

In a couple hours, I’ll be leaving Hamilton for Toronto, where I’ll be covering FanExpo for a couple different news outlets; the primary bit of coverage will go to ComicVine, and I’ll probably have a post or two going up at Nerd Girl Pinups and Dork Shelf.

Here’s my kit bag for journalism hilarity.

Contained within is:

• (1) 32 iPad2, with smart cover
• (1) Pocket Moleskine, complete with awesome art by Steph Medryk.
• (1) FlipHD 2GB, for video
• (1) 150gb iPod Classic, for tunes
• (1) Gorillapod Original Tripod, for the camera
• (2) USB Drives, 8GB and 4GB, because you never know
• (1) Sony Voice Recorder, for interviews
• (1) Motorola Atrix, for calls, tweets and emergency pictures
• (2) Apple Photo Adapters for iPad, allowing me to rip photos/video on the spot for editing
• (1) Nikon D40, with 18-55mm Lens (not pictured)
• (1) Old school flash, as it’s the only one I have
• (1) Wallet, because duh
• (1) Analog watch, because you need one
• (1) Bottle Opener, because you never know
• (1) Each of the following: Micro USB Cable (phone), Mini USB Cable (Camera, Voice Recorder), iPod Cable (iPad, iPod, Charging), Camera Charge Cable/Adapter, and extra phone charger, just because
• (1) Lens Cap, because duh

And that’s it! I’m debating throwing my headset in there, but I doubt I’m going to be doing any solo podcasting/voice calls. 

I’ll be using my iPad as my primary publishing tool, which has me a little weirded out. I haven’t used it in any kind of “gotta get this post up now” capacity, so we’ll see how things go. The fact that they charge for wifi at my hotel is a bit iffy, as well; I’ll have to rely on the con’s wifi (which is hopefully press-only) or tether from my phone. This weekend could get really expensive, really fast.
